ENT North Yorkshire is a team of established Ear, Nose and Throat Consultant Surgeons who joined together to offer the highest quality care for children and adults in North Yorkshire, Leeds and the surrounding areas. The surgeons work as a team and hold clinics at York Nuffield Hospital, Harrogate Duchy Hospital and Scarborough Hospital Private Patient Unit.
Mr Coatesworth qualified from The University of Birmingham Medical School in 1988. He then trained in general surgery and then ENT in the West Midlands and Yorkshire, before being appointed as Consultant in York in January 2002. He won the gold medal for the FRCS(ORL-HNS), awarded by The Royal Society of Medicine.
He has a strong interest in research, and has published over 80 papers and has written 3 chapters. This work has been presented regionally, nationally and internationally, and has been awarded 5 prizes. He has collaborates in research with The Departments of Biology, Psychology, Electronics and The Centre for Reviews and Dissemination at The University of York.
He has been a member of council for ENT UK; Chairman of York Research Ethics Committee; Lead Clinician for Research and Development; Research sub Dean HYMS; Associate Medical Director; and Lead Clinician for Head and Neck Oncology.
Gerard Reilly qualified from Cambridge University in 1984 and has been a Consultant ENT surgeon in York since 1996. He trained in Nottingham, London, Johannesburg and San Francisco.
He is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons and for the European Board of Otolaryngology.
He was Training Programme Director for Ear, Nose and Throat surgeons in Yorkshire for seven years.
He is interested in the whole range of ENT conditions especially diseases of the ear including hearing loss in children.
Mr Agada is currently a Consultant Otolaryngologist, Head and Neck Surgeon at York Teaching Hospital York and Honorary Consultant to the Harrogate District Hospital. He has practicing privilege at both The Nuffield York and The Duchy Hospital Harrogate to see patients privately.
Mr Agada holds a MBBS degree from Zaria and subsequently completed a higher surgical training between 2004 and 2010 in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery in the Yorkshire deanery. He then under took a traveling fellowship to John Hopkins, Baltimore USA, and New York Hospitals in Head and Neck surgery.
His practice covers a broad range of ENT conditions, however his current interests includes Head and Neck, Thyroid, Parathyroid, and endoscopic sinus surgery. Mr Agada has over 35 peer review publications and has written chapters in four textbooks.
Mr Phillips is a Consultant ENT Surgeon in York Teaching Hospital, and sees NHS patients there and at Scarborough and Bridlington Hospitals.
He came to medicine after a first degree in engineering. He trained in South London, Kent and Sussex, and spent a year in Sydney in 2010 as the Advanced Rhinology and Skull Base Fellow, learning subspecialist skills in this area. He has also completed a Master’s Degree in Voice Pathology and runs the York Laryngology Service. He has an interest in teaching and training other ENT surgeons, and in clinical management.
He sees patients with general ENT conditions, as well as those with specific nose and voice issues. He has successful experience of using the coblation device for tonsillectomy.
